Hajime Sorayama is a cool Japanese illustrator and hyperrealist best known for his hand-painted photorealistic depictions of women and gynoid robots.
One day, Hajime Sorayama watched his very first anime.
Then a second.
Then a tenth.
A month later, his studio was almost unrecognizable.
The familiar silver tones had disappeared. His palettes were now filled with shimmering turquoise, lavender, pink, amber, and sapphire hues. Every new chrome robot received its own unique “anime palette,” as if personality could be expressed not only through form, but through color as well.
His gynoids began to resemble anime heroines, with huge expressive eyes, impossibly long legs, elegant silhouettes, and flowing fiber-optic hair shimmering in every color of the rainbow. Their mirror-like surfaces were no longer merely metallic—they glowed with pearlescent iridescence, shimmering caustics, and liquid chrome reflections.
Sorayama would laugh and say,
“I used to draw robots that looked like humans. Now I draw anime that decided to become robots.”
And no one argued anymore.
Because every new artwork looked as though chrome itself had once discovered anime… and fallen in love with it forever.
